HISTORIC
SAENGER HALLE RENOVATION

When our group learned about the listing of Saenger Halle - the first opportunity to buy it since it was built in 1872 - we knew we had to act. Restoring this building is the driving force behind On Point Revival, NFP.

A brief history on the building:

Extracted in 1872 by the German group known as the Saenger Choir, Saenger Halle was built to celebrate the arts. Poetry readings and musical performances were an integral part of its founding members. The building evolved over the years into what modern society would consider a community center. Several civic organizations have rented spaces in the building over the years, and the 2nd floor ballroom was home to many balls, dances, parties, and musical acts.

Today, the building sits empty, withering away to the elements. Our mission first and foremost is to replace the decaying roof to ensure the building will stand for decades to come.

Next, we will work update the electrical, plumbing, and interior finishes to allow new businesses to use the spaces downstairs. Finally, we'll restore and update the 2nd floor ballroom so it once again can host community events, parties, and concerts.
